Comet Paisley (Basic Facts)

Policy No. 18864908 (Comet Accident & Breakdown Cover)

1) 23.03.02 Bought 19" Monitor & 5year Warranty (effective from 23.03.03 to 22.03.2007)
2) 04.06.03 Monitor developed fault.
3) Phoned Comet help centre.
4) Asked to do some tasks with my Computer, It was agreed Monitor was at fault.
5) 11.06.03 faulty Monitor taken to Comet & was replaced with new one.
6) Problem solved.
7) 25.06.03 call from a company named Maztec wanting his Monitor back. When asked why he said Comet were only willing to pay for a Call Out or the Monitor (not both)
8) Naturally he wanted paid for the call out which of course was not necessary, see (4.
9) New Problem for Insurance company

Insurance Company (How to solve this)

1) Easy.
2) Get Mr. Barclay to return the Monitor to Maztec
3) Maztec get Monitor back & paid for the call out.
4) This solves the first problem.
5) Mr. Barclay has still no Monitor and a warranty that expires in 23.03.2007.
6) Easy.
7) We will give Mr. Barclay vouchers, he gets his monitor and we get rid of his warranty
8) The Contractor & the Insurance Company are now happy.
9) The Customer (Mr. Barclay). Who cares.

Slight Problem Mr. Barclay Cares

1) I have the Monitor supplied by Comet under their contractual agreement with me.
2) Why should I return the Monitor for I have done nothing wrong?
3) I now think I have enough circumstantial evidence to contact the Trading Standards
4) I think it is time to close this loophole, that by the use of vouchers your warranty expires, even if you managed to buy the same Monitor in the same Store.
5) The price of CRT Monitors have not changed much over the year, I would like to know why Comet couldn't find me one as a replacement. (Again I suspect the above)
6) They did find me one but because of their mix up refused to pay for it, again not my problem only Comets.

I ask Comet Pay the Contractor what he is due and make us happy, as for the Insurance Company. Who cares. Your Business by its nature is a risk; so stop trying to wriggle out of your obligations. If you can't stand the heat get out of the Kitchen.
On the other hand I do not have a contract or any obligations to the Company Maztec. Any contractual obligations are between Maztec & Comet or vice versa.

Insurance Company (How to solve this). May or May not be true but when you analyse the facts they can only be one conclusion. I know what mine is, do you?
Sorry about the small print it is catching.
