Having climbed Ben Venue And Ben A'an I decided to pay more attention to Loch Katrine as the views of the Loch from these places are quite stunning. On the A821 at the sharp bend at the head of Loch Achray there is a road about one mile long to Loch Katrine. At the Trossachs Pier Car Park (small fee required), there is a Tearoom, Souvenir Shop and Bike Hire.

A good walk is to take the S.S. Sir Walter Scott to Stronachlachar and walk back to the Trossachs Pier Car Park (about 11 miles). If hiring a bike check with the booking office before committing yourself as the space on board is limited.

On a general rule the Sir Walter Scott calls into Stronachlachar in the Morning and does a circular tour in the afternoon missing out Stronachlachar.
